I’m Lucia Igartua, born in London 33 years ago, raised in Spain, and now rooted in the U.S. for the past six years. As the wife of an advocate international hunter and dedicated father, I’m proud to lead our traditional family of four—my husband, our two children (a boy and a girl), and me—in a mission that reflects our values. Balancing a full-time career with this calling, I’ve taken the helm as president of a growing non-profit, steering a once-small charity hunting club toward becoming a leading force for impact in rural Africa.
Our story began with a powerful observation. Having traveled across much of the African continent, we saw the stark realities faced by rural communities in underserved regions. Two challenges stood out: scarce access to education, dimming long-term hope, and relentless wildlife conflicts, where cattle fall prey and crops vanish, threatening survival day by day. These intertwined struggles demanded action—and I couldn’t look away.
That’s when we founded the ASA Foundation—Adopt Schools in Africa. What began as a personal endeavor, fueled by our own donations, quickly grew into a shared mission. Friends, family, and fellow believers in the cause joined us, united by a vision to address both the immediate hardships and the enduring dreams of these communities.
Two years later, we’re excited to unveil the Charity Hunting Club, a non-profit that harnesses the hunting industry—close to our family’s heart—to power our initiatives. This work thrives thanks to the generosity of hunters who support us through donations from our sponsors and outfitters. With these resources, we’re protecting rural livelihoods from wildlife threats while funding education projects that light the way for future generations. Our mission is simple yet bold: craft sustainable solutions that solve today’s crises and build a thriving tomorrow.
Join us as we fuse compassion, innovation, and action—rooted in the strength of a traditional family—to drive lasting change.
